The Ministry of Environmental Protection's “Levinsky” air monitoring station, at street level by the station's north entrance. It was moved here at the end of 2018 from a nearby spot, where it had been called “Tel Aviv Central Station”. It measured the pollution from the buses: in 2019 nitrogen dioxide was about 30% above the legal limit, and fine particles went over the daily limit 27 times (18 are allowed a year). The station was, and still is, a heavy air polluter, yet in November 2026 the monitoring box stands fenced off with metal sheets and looks out of service.
